Saying goodbye to Istanbul

I arrived, exhausted, to the hostel on Monday morning. I sat and caught up on some emails and did some trip planning before heading out to mail some post cards. I explored for a little while and had some lunch before heading back to the hostel. I met some people and chatted with them before going out to grab some dinner. My stomach had been feeling funny for a couple of days but I knew I had to eat. On the way down the staircase to the front door who should appear but Saas! He'd already eaten so I went out and came back with my food but went to bed pretty early. I enjoyed a hot shower and fell asleep quickly.

The next morning Saas and I met for breakfast at the hostel and then went to the Asian side of Istanbul by ferry. It was a lovely sunny day...perfect for walking around. We stopped and ate lunch on a roof top terrace. We explored a small market for locals and walked along the water. We stopped and had tea on the pier and watched locals fishing before going back on. We went to the hostel where I took some Pepto for my upset tummy and then we headed out for dinner. We ate at a really nice restaurant and I ordered a Greek salad! I love vegetables!

We sat chatting with people in the hostel before bed. We both were flying from the same airport near the same time so we caught the shuttle together. Our flights ended up leaving from the same gate so we ate some lunch at the airport before boarding. We have become good friends and I have so enjoyed getting to know him and hearing his funny stories. It's always nice to make friends with Canadians!

I have now arrived in Amman Jordan......more on my adventures later!
