I wasn't very excited about Malaysia...I think because I didn't know anything about it. I was ecstatic to get there though when my good friend Shauna told me 2 days before my arrival in the big city of Kuala Lampur that she was dropping everything to visit for a week! "Do you need anything?" She asked....."Twizzlers" I replied! So there I was, impatiently waiting all day Saturday for Shauna to arrive. I explored a few malls, bought some much needed jeans, and chilled in our double room until she arrived, at 2 am! An enthusiastic conversation, a sleep in and some exploring of KL ensued. Shauna's cousins were living in the city for a few weeks during the birth of their beautiful daughter. We were welcomed to stay with them in their 3 bedroom, top floor, gorgeous place with a rooftop pool. So for the next 4 nights us 3 girls shopped, ate, and, of course, cuddled little 5 week baby Ella. It was so relaxing and exactly what I needed. A familiar face, a real bed, clean sheets, and a home...even for a few days. Annie was a gracious host and didn't mind when we fought over the baby! It was hard to move on but I knew I had to see a bit more during my stay in Malaysia. So after 3 days of normal life (as normal as it can be in Asia) I headed out to the bus station for my bus to the Cameron Highlands. Thank you Shauna for sharing a part of my journey with me! I'll be forever grateful for the company, your generosity, the twizzlers, your postal services, and everything else you did for me! Xoxo
